Bangor Boccia Club is a small community sports club run by volunteers. We only collect the personal information we need to run the club, and we look after it carefully. This statement explains what we collect and how we use it.
What information we collect
We collect personal information in three ways:
- When you contact us through our website or by email or phone, we keep your name, contact details and message so we can reply to you.
- When you register as a player or volunteer, we ask for the details we need to welcome you safely, such as contact and emergency details and any support needs.
- When you feature as Player of the Week, we publish a first name and photo on our website, with your permission or a parent or guardian's permission for anyone under 18.
Like most websites, ours also uses cookies to collect anonymous statistics about how it is used, such as how many people visit and which pages they view. This does not identify you, and you can block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
How we use it
We use your information only to run the club: to reply to your enquiries, to keep sessions safe and suitable for everyone, and to celebrate our players. We never sell your information or use it for marketing by other organisations. We keep it only for as long as we need it, then delete it.
Who we share it with
We do not share your information with anyone except:
- Disability Sport NI, our governing body, where this is needed for affiliation, insurance or competitions;
- the online services we use to run our website, email and forms, which handle information on our behalf;
- emergency or medical staff if you or your child need help during a session.
Photos and children
Many of our members are children or adults who may need extra support, and we take particular care with their information. We always ask before taking or publishing a photo, and we never publish surnames or other details that could identify where someone lives or goes to school. You can change your mind at any time and we will remove a photo or name promptly.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, or to stop using it. Just email bangorbocciaclub@gmail.com or speak to a volunteer at a session. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Our website links to other sites, such as YouTube and Google Maps. This statement applies only to our own website, and we recommend reading the privacy information on any other site you visit.
